In-home support

Help with the parts of the day that are hard, delivered by people you have chosen. From a couple of hours a week to around-the-clock support.

What it is

Your home, your routine, your rules.

In-home support is the everyday stuff: getting up and dressed, showered, fed, medicated, out the door on time. Laundry that has piled up. A kitchen that needs doing. An appointment that needs a lift.

What it is not is someone taking over. The point of good in-home support is that you keep running your own life. We just take the friction out of the bits that cost you the most energy. And where you want to learn to do something yourself, we work on that too, at your pace.

Some people book two hours on a Tuesday. Others have someone with them overnight, every night. Both are normal.

What in-home support covers

  • Personal care. Showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and continence support, delivered with dignity and by someone you are comfortable with.
  • Meals. Planning, shopping, cooking together, or having something ready. Including cultural, religious and texture-modified diets.
  • Around the house. Cleaning, laundry, dishes, bins, changing the bed, keeping things safe underfoot.
  • Medication. Prompting and assistance in line with your plan and your GP's instructions, recorded every time.
  • Getting places. Transport and support to appointments, work, study, the shops or family.
  • Admin and money. Opening the mail, paying a bill, budgeting, booking an appointment, using the myGov app.
  • Overnight and 24/7. Sleepover, active night shift, or full 24-hour support where your plan funds it.
  • Building skills. Learning to cook three meals, manage your own medication, or catch the tram, so you need us less rather than more.

Not sure this is the right support? That is a normal place to start. Ring us on 0414 851 688 and describe an ordinary week. We will tell you which supports fit, including when the answer is a different provider.

Levels of support

Three common shapes this takes.

  1. A few hours a week

The most common starting point. A regular worker on set days for personal care, a shop, a clean and a lift somewhere. Predictable, same faces, easy to build on.

  2. High-intensity daily support

Where you need complex care such as PEG feeding, ventilation, catheter care, epilepsy management, or positive behaviour support. Delivered by workers with the specific training and sign-off, supervised by our clinical lead.

  3. Overnight and 24/7

Sleepovers, active nights, or continuous support. We build a small roster of regular workers so someone is always familiar with your routine, including at 3am.

Getting started

How it works

  1. You get in touch

Call, email or send the referral form. Participants, families, support coordinators and allied health are all welcome. You do not need anyone's permission to contact us.

  2. We talk it through, free of charge

What you need, when you need it, and what your plan funds. In person, on the phone or over video. We will be straight with you about what we can and cannot do.

  3. You meet your worker

We shortlist support workers who suit your needs, your interests and your household. You meet them before anything is locked in.

  4. Support starts, and keeps adjusting

We put it in writing, then check in at four weeks and quarterly after that. Change the hours, the days or the worker whenever you need to.

Questions

Things people ask us

Yes, and we think you should. We shortlist workers who match what you need and who you are, you meet them before anything starts, and if the fit is not right you tell us and we try again. You will never be told to just make it work.

Two hours per visit. That is not us being difficult. It is the practical minimum for a worker to travel to you and do something useful. There is no minimum number of visits per week.

For NDIS-funded support, yes. If you are not yet a participant we can point you to a local area coordinator or an early childhood partner, and we are happy to explain what evidence an access request usually needs. We also take private clients.

We ring you as early as we can and offer a replacement from the small team who already know your plan. If you would rather skip the shift than have someone unfamiliar, that is completely your call and there is no cancellation charge in that situation.

Yes. Evenings, overnight sleepovers, active night shifts, weekends and public holidays. Those attract the higher rates set out in the NDIS Price Guide, and we will map out the cost with you before you commit.

Yes, where we can staff it safely. That means workers with the right training and sign-off for things like PEG feeding, ventilation, catheter care, complex bowel care or epilepsy management. If we cannot resource your needs properly we will say so and help you find a provider who can.

Let us know at least seven days before a shift and there is no charge. Inside that window we follow the NDIS short-notice cancellation rules, which allow us to claim the full amount. If it is illness, a hospital admission or something genuinely out of your control, talk to us. We routinely waive it.
